A History of Edinburgh’s Georgian West End

Come and hear author Barclay Price talk about his book – ‘A History of Edinburgh’s Georgian West End’.

In the early 1800s Shandwick Place was created as part of a new road from Edinburgh to Glasgow and this book relates the building and history of the streets developed on land to the north and south of Shandwick Place; the firstphase of the wider expansion known as the Western New Town. Barclay will share a number of the book’s 450 captivating illustrations and relate some of the area’s intriguing events and lives; including the SAC home street Rutland Square.
