A Hall for All: creating the Dunard Centre

In 2025, construction will begin on the Dunard Centre, Edinburgh’s first new concert hall for more than a century. Designed by David Chipperfield Architects and Nagata Acoustics, this 21st century performance space will become a home for the Scottish Chamber Orchestra, a principal venue for the Edinburgh International Festival and a creative, collaborative new space for a diverse programme across all genres. In this talk, Chief Executive Jo Buckley will introduces the plans, talk through the design, and outline the vision for this once-in-a-century project.

Jo Buckley is Chief Executive of IMPACT Scotland, the charity overseeing the creation of the Dunard Centre, Edinburgh’s first concert hall for more than a century. From 2019 to 2023 she was Chief Executive of the Dunedin Consort, before which she worked for Britten Sinfonia, Northern Sinfonia, Live Music Now and Delphian Records. Jo is a Governor of the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, and a Trustee of the Royal Philharmonic Society.
