Celebrating 25 Years of Dance on the Grassmarket
Join Dance Base’s Artistic Director, Tony Mills, and CEO, Jeanie Scott, for an insider’s introduction to this Edinburgh institution, and a preview of the 2026 Dance Base Festival programme.
Dance Base is Scotland’s National Centre for Dance, a charity on a mission to help dance flourish and change lives in Scotland and beyond. Since 1993 it has supported professional dance artists to build sustainable careers, and provided an inspiring and inclusive home for dancers of all abilities and ages. In 2026, Dance Base celebrates 25 years in its award‑winning, purpose‑built home on the Grassmarket (designed by Malcolm Fraser and opened in 2001 by its first Royal Patron, HRH King Charles) and its 25th Dance Base Festival programme, which showcases the best of international talent alongside Scotland’s own companies and artists.
