Booklaunch: Maharanee, Isobel's Darjeeling Tea Garden | Catherine Robins
SAC member Catherine Robins invites you to join us for the launch of her new book:
Maharanee
Isobel’s Darjeeling Tea Garden
Joyce Caplan will lead the question and answer
In this highly entertaining novel “Maharanee, Isobel’s Darjeeling Tea Garden”, Catherine Robins gives us both a portrait of a marriage, and an insight into the rivalries, prejudices and hardships facing a female tea-planter at the turn of the last century.
It’s a fast moving account of Isobel Keane’s marriage to a feckless Irishman, and her courage as a lone woman in an all-male world as she challenges all the norms of British Raj society.
