Zanang Dangata Trio: The Music of Sonny Rollins
Emerging jazz pianist, composer and bandleader Zanang Dangata is making his mark on the Scottish jazz scene, performing across the country and developing his own body of original music. Recent performances include The Jazz Bar in Edinburgh and Glasgow’s Basement Jazz Cafe.
Joined by two of Edinburgh’s most respected jazz musicians, bassist Ed Kelly and drummer David Carnegie, the trio brings together a wealth of experience, musical chemistry and a shared passion for improvisation.
For this performance at the Scottish Arts Club, the trio celebrates the music of legendary saxophonist Sonny Rollins, exploring his compositions and musical legacy through fresh interpretations, spontaneous interplay and the freedom of the piano trio format.
